Hamburger Buns

Easy From-Scratch Burger Buns

Ingredients:

425 grams organic all-purpose flour

3 TBSP organic sugar

2 1/4 tsp rapid rise yeast

1 1/2 tsp salt

1 cup of warm water (110 - 120 degrees)

1 large egg, at room temperature

3 TBSP butter, at room temperature

Topping:

1 large egg, mixed with 1 TBSP water

Everything Bagel Seasoning (optional)

Directions

In the bowl of an electric stand mixer combine water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 15 minutes or until puffy.

Add in flour, salt, butter, and egg. Knead on medium-low speed, using hook attachment until the dough is smooth and elastic. If needed add up to 6 TBSP of additional flour.

Transfer dough to an oiled bowl. Cover and let rest until doubled in size, about 4-6 hours.

Punch down dough. Weigh dough, then divide into 10 equal portions.

Pull and tuck corners/edges under a few times. Shape into a ball on a floured surface.

Transfer bough balls onto a parchment lines baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart. Using your hand slightly flatten each ball into a 2 2/3 inch circle. Cover and let rise 1-2 hours.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Gently brush buns with egg wash. If desired sprinkle tops with seasoning.

Bake buns until golden brown on top, about 13-16 minutes. Let cool on wire rack. Slice buns when ready to serve.
